LEVIATHAN

Online Dating Safety Awareness

For all LEVIATHAN users, including in the United States. Last updated: October 28, 2026

LEVIATHAN DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND SCREENINGS OF ITS MEMBERS.

We do not check whether the people who use LEVIATHAN have a criminal record or are listed on a sex offender registry. Our Terms of Use prohibit anyone convicted of those offenses from signing up, but we cannot guarantee that nobody lies. A verification badge does not mean that the person’s background has been checked.

Why we publish this notice

Several U.S. laws require online dating services to give their members a safety awareness notice and to state whether they conduct criminal background screenings, including those of Texas (Business and Commerce Code, chapter 106), New York (General Business Law §394-cc), Illinois (Internet Dating Safety Act), New Jersey (Internet Dating Safety Act) and Utah (Utah Code §13-63). We apply this notice to all users, in every country. It forms part of our Terms of Use.

This page is also available in other languages, with the same content.
