Removal of non-consensual intimate content
If someone posted an intimate image or video of you on LEVIATHAN without your consent, we remove it within 48 hours at most from when we receive a valid request. You do not need an account and you do not have to send us the image. Request it with the non-consensual intimate content form.
What content is covered
- Photos, videos or audio in which you appear nude, partially nude or in a sexual act, posted or sent on LEVIATHAN without your consent.
- Content you shared privately with one person and that another person spread without your permission.
- Content recorded without your knowledge that you were being recorded.
- Fake images: composites, “nudes” generated or altered with artificial intelligence and other digital forgeries in which you can be identified.
- Threats to publish any of the above to obtain money, more content or anything else (sextortion).
If a person under 18 appears in the content, mark it in the form or use the child safety form: we handle it with critical priority under our child safety standards.
Who can request it
The person who appears in the content or their legal representative, whether or not they have a LEVIATHAN account. If you are a user of the app, you can also use Report on the profile or the chat and choose the non-consensual intimate content category; for the 48-hour deadline to start, also complete the form.
How to make the request
The form asks you for what the law requires for the request to be valid:
- Where the content is: links, profile name or identifier, date of the message or any detail that helps us find it. Do not upload or send us the image.
- Who is requesting it: whether you are the person who appears or their legal representative.
- A good-faith statement that the intimate content was published without the consent of the person who appears in it.
- Your electronic signature: typing your full name is enough.
- A contact email address so we can tell you the outcome.
When you send it, you receive a reference number with the response deadline date and time. If you cannot use the form, use the alternative channel in the Contact section of the Terms of Use with the same details.
What we do next
- We review the request with critical priority.
- We remove or block the content within 48 hours at most from when we receive the valid request.
- We search for and remove the identical copies you point out to us and those we find in the account that posted the content.
- We sanction the account that posted it: sharing intimate content without consent is a zero-tolerance violation of our Community Guidelines and leads to a permanent ban.
- We keep, securely and with restricted access, the evidence needed for you to file a report and to respond to the authorities, for the periods in our Privacy Notice.
- We notify you by email when the content has been removed or if we need more information to find it.
To meet the deadline, we remove first and review afterwards. If you believe we removed your content by mistake, you can request a review with the appeal form; while it is reviewed, the content stays removed.
The laws we apply
In every country we apply the 48-hour deadline required by the US TAKE IT DOWN Act. In addition:
- Mexico: spreading intimate content without consent is a crime (Ley Olimpia). We immediately comply with protective measures ordered by the Public Prosecutor’s Office or a judge to remove or block content, under the General Law on Women’s Access to a Life Free of Violence.
- United States: we handle requests under section 3 of the TAKE IT DOWN Act (Pub. L. 119-12). If you believe we did not comply, you can file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.
- Brazil: we remove the content upon receiving your notice, without a court order, under article 21 of the Brazilian Internet Civil Framework (Marco Civil da Internet) (Law 12.965/2014), and content involving minors under the Digital Statute of Children and Adolescents.
- Canada: publishing or threatening to publish intimate images without consent, including sexual deepfakes, is a crime (Criminal Code, s. 162.1).
- All other countries: we remove the content with this same process and comply with the orders of the authorities of your country.
False requests
Submitting a request you know to be false, or to harm another person, is a violation of our rules that can lead to a ban and create legal liability.
If it happened to you
- You are not alone, and it is not your fault. Save screenshots, links, dates and profile names before blocking; they will help you file a report.
- Report it to the police or the prosecutor’s office in your country. If you are in danger, call emergency services (911 in Mexico, the United States and Canada).
- Keep the content from appearing on other platforms: StopNCII.org lets you create, from your own phone and without uploading the image, a digital fingerprint so that participating platforms block it. If you appear in the content as a minor, use the Take It Down tool of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
- Ask search engines to remove it: Google, Bing and other search engines have forms to remove non-consensual intimate images from their results.
This page describes our process; it is not legal advice. Conecta al Campo operates LEVIATHAN.
This page is also available in other languages, with the same content. If the versions differ, the version in the language required by the law of your place of residence prevails: in Quebec and Haiti, the French version (in Quebec, under the Charter of the French Language); in Brazil, the Portuguese version (Consumer Protection Code, Law No. 8,078/1990); in Mexico, the other Spanish-speaking countries and Puerto Rico, the Spanish version; everywhere else, this English version.
