How LEVIATHAN works
We want you to know exactly why you see each person. Here we explain, with no fine print, how profiles are ranked, what influences the order and what does not, and what changes when someone pays.
The essentials: every profile you see belongs to a real person; we do not create profiles, likes or messages. Your plan changes the order in which you appear: whoever pays more gets more visibility. Profiles with a Boost (30 minutes, labeled Boosted) come first, then Elite, then Plus and then the Free plan, which always keeps a share of the places. No payment guarantees matches, messages or dates.
How profiles are ranked in Discover
- Who can appear. Adults with an active account who used the app in the last 30 days, within the maximum distance you chose, who have not blocked you and whom you have not blocked, who are not in incognito mode and whom you have not yet rated. Gender and orientation compatibility applies in both directions: you only see people who are looking for someone like you and who match what you are looking for.
- Your filters. Basic filters (age, distance, gender, orientation and intention) are free. Advanced filters (height, pace, intimacy, country and verified only) are part of Plus and Elite.
- The order by plan. Profiles with an active Boost (a purchase that lasts 30 minutes, labeled “Boosted”) appear first. Next come profiles on the Elite plan, then Plus and then the Free plan. So that nobody is left out, the Free plan keeps 1 out of every 5 places: places 5, 10, 15… go to Free plan profiles while there are any.
- The order within each group. From highest to lowest chemistry with you; with equal chemistry, verified profiles come first, then the most complete profiles and then those with the most recent activity, grouped into four bands: last 24 hours, last 3 days, last 7 days and last 30 days. Anything still tied is ordered at random, with an order that stays stable during the day so that the list does not change every time you open it.
- If someone does not share their preferences. If you or the other person did not accept the processing of your intimacy preferences, we do not show chemistry and that profile is ranked as neutral: it does not move up or down for that reason.
Distance decides who appears, but not the order. With Travel Mode the distance is measured from the city you chose instead of your real location. We do not use your ethnic origin, religion or income to choose whom we show you, and the only paid things that change the order are the plan (Elite, Plus or Free) and the Boost, explained above.
What chemistry measures
The chemistry percentage compares what you and the other person stated in your intimacy preferences. It adds 35 points if you are looking for the same thing, 20 if you match in pace, 10 for each shared interest (up to 30), 5 for each shared boundary (up to 15) and 10 if your general availability overlaps (weekdays, weekends, evenings or flexible), with a maximum of 100. It does not predict whether you will like each other, nor does it measure attractiveness, personality or behavior. It is only calculated if both people accepted the processing of their preferences, which are sensitive data; otherwise, you will see “—”.
How the dice work
The dice are part of the Plus and Elite plans, for any period, including the founders’ offer, and require you to have verified your identity. They are not available on the free plan. The result is always a voice call with someone online now: the roll decides with whom, not the type of connection.
When you roll the dice, our server rolls two dice at random and the sum decides how we look for someone:
- 4 or less, Nearby: the closest available person.
- 5 to 8, Chemistry: the available person with the most chemistry with you. It is only used if both people accepted the processing of their intimacy preferences; otherwise, someone is chosen at random.
- 9 or more, Chance: an available person chosen at random.
Only verified adults on Plus or Elite who also rolled the dice and were active in the last 30 seconds take part. When several people are waiting, Elite people are paired before Plus people; within each group the roll decides. In addition:
- They must be within the smaller of the maximum distances chosen by both people.
- Gender and orientation compatibility applies in both directions: each person must be looking for someone like the other.
- We never pair you with someone you blocked or reported, or with someone who blocked or reported you, or with someone we already paired you with in the last 24 hours.
- If you turn on “Verified only”, we only pair you with verified profiles.
- You can roll the dice up to 30 times per hour.
During the call:
- Before you join we remind you that you can hang up whenever you want, that nothing obliges you to do anything you don’t want to and that you must not record the other person. Nothing from the call is recorded on our servers.
- Video: only if one person suggests it during the call and the other accepts. Either person can go back to voice or hang up at any time.
- Messages: only if both people choose “I want to keep in touch”, during the call or up to 10 minutes after it. Then the match is created and the chat opens; if one of you doesn’t want to, there is no chat.
- Hang up, Report and Block are always visible and free. While the call lasts the rest of the app can’t be used and its notifications wait until you hang up.
When we find someone, the app can announce it by voice (in Spanish: “¿Estás listo?”, “¿Estás lista?” o “¿Todo listo?”, that is, “Are you ready?”); you can turn off the voice notice in Settings. The search and the pairing end if either person leaves.
Highlights
Highlights shows nearby profiles that used the app in the last 30 days, ranked first by plan (Elite, then Plus, then Free, with the same share of places for the Free plan as in Discover) and, within each plan, by chemistry with you and then by verification. The Boost does not change the order of Highlights. It respects your Travel Mode and your filters, and applies gender and orientation compatibility in both directions, just like Discover. If either person did not accept the processing of their intimacy preferences, chemistry is not shown and the profile is ranked as neutral. They are not ads, but each person’s plan does count in the order, as explained above.
Tonight
Tonight posts are ranked by the poster’s plan (Elite, then Plus, then Free) and, within each plan, from newest to oldest; the Free plan keeps 1 out of every 5 places: places 5, 10, 15… go to Free plan profiles while there are any. The same rules of approximate distance, compatibility and blocks as in Discover apply.
Notifications
We send you service notifications when you have a new match, a message, a star or an incoming or missed call, and a daily summary of new likes (at most one per day). Message notifications do not show their content, unless you turn on the preview in Settings.
- Quiet hours: by default we do not send notifications between 23:00 and 08:00. Calls and safety notices are the exception.
- Daily limit: there is a maximum number of notifications per day.
- Control by category: you can turn off each type of notification in Settings.
- Profile reminders: reminders to complete or verify your profile are sent at most once a week.
- Messages to bring you back to the app: reminders after some time without using the app and “new people near you” notices (with real figures) are only sent if you agreed to receive promotions, an option that is off by default. They are sent at most once every 72 hours and we stop sending them after 3.
Who writes first
In matches between a man and a woman, she sends the first message. We let you know in the chat before you write. In all other matches, either person can write first.
What “Verified” means
The badge indicates that the person completed identity verification with a liveness check and facial comparison. It does not guarantee their intentions or their conduct.
Likes and the likes inbox
On the free plan you have 60 likes per day, plus 10 for each rewarded ad you choose to watch (up to 3 per day). You will see how many people liked you, with their profiles blurred; with Plus or Elite you see them in full. Likes received are ordered like this: Stars first, then likes from people on Elite, then Plus and then Free; within each group, from newest to oldest. Likes reset every day at midnight, Central Mexico time.
Ads
The free plan shows Google AdMob ads: a card labeled “Ad” every 10 profiles you rate, up to 12 per day, and rewarded ads that you only see if you choose them. We may also show our own campaigns labeled Sponsored, which count within the same maximum. There are never ads inside chats, the vault or calls, nor ads for dating, sexual content or gambling.
Ads are not chosen using your preferences, your orientation or other sensitive data. They will only be personalized according to your activity in other apps and websites if you accept it; you can change this whenever you want in Settings. Plus and Elite have no ads.
